During the three-day event, there will be 9 plenary sessions, 40 lecture-workshop sessions and study visits to therapeutic facilities in the Pomeranian region. The themes of the conference include 4 thematic blocks:
„The aim of this part of the conference is to invigorate the therapeutic community approach and highlight its potential in aiding socially excluded individuals, ensuring its adaptability within preferred value systems. We firmly believe that the foundational values of the Therapeutic Community effectively address the evolving challenges of the contemporary world.
New thoughts, new practice. Examples of applications of the therapeutic community in psychotherapy, education, social welfare and culture – we would like the 19th EFTC Conference to be an opportunity to explore new and better helping solutions for different social groups, to encourage learning from each other and to build a sense of community in shaping the future.
We recognise the need for research and exchange of scientific and practical ideas in strengthening therapeutic community as a method. We want to believe that reporting on the latest research from different places in Europe and around the world will contribute to shaping the future in solidarity and together.
Poland has almost half a century of experience in using therapeutic community as a method. We would like to share Polish achievements and resulting reflections on the possibilities of applying therapeutic communities in different areas of social life.
